Pita's!!

Pita Pit has made me remember how much I LOVE Pita Bread and when I stumbled across a recipe for them at about 6am yesterday, I couldn't resist! The link to the original recipe is below, however I did change it up a wee bit as I made the dough in the breadmaker, and then baked them rather than microwaving.

Wholemeal Pita Bread

3c Wholemeal Flour
1.25c Warm Water
0.5 tbsp Yeast
1.5 tbsp Olive Oil
0.5 tbsp Salt
Pinch of Sugar.

Set breadmaker to it's "dough" setting, and add half of the warm water, the pinch of sugar, and the full measure of yeast. Leave for a few minutes.

Add the rest of the ingrediants - other half of the warm water, flour, olive oil and salt. Start the breadmaker, and leave to run it's cycle (must be on the "dough" setting!! Otherwise you'll end up with a loaf!).

Preheat your oven to 250c Fan Bake, and line your trays with baking paper.

Split the resulting dough into 6 balls, flour, and leave to rest for a few minutes.

Roll out each of the balls to a circle around 0.25 of an inch. I baked mine 2 to a tray, 1 tray at a time, for approximately  7 minutes a pop.
